MeerMankaa jewellery is completely hand-crafted at our workshops and needs to be handled delicately. Handle each piece with care as many pieces, especially some stones are prone to breakage if dropped or dealt with recklessly. Avoid wearing jewellery during physical exercise, cooking or any activity that could cause scratches or breakage
Your jewellery should be stored in a dry place away from humidity, moisture and extreme temperatures.
Rings, bangles and bracelets should be worn sparingly to avoid damage through impact.
Don’t forget to remove your rings when washing or showering, as soap particles may become lodged in stone settings and crevices. Soaps can also leave a film over metal and stones, creating a dull appearance. Harsh soaps and detergents could completely tarnish the product leaving no scope of replenishment.
Store your jewellery in its own box or pouch to prevent scratching, chipping and entanglement especially those that are heavily strung in beads or pearls.
Commercially available jewellery boxes are not recommended for storage. They may have chemical adhesives that could cause discolouring and blackening. Plastic boxes layered with cotton cloth and bubble wrap is your jewellery’s best friend.
All MeerMankaa silver jewellery is hand polished before sale. When exposed to the atmosphere, all metals especially alloy & silver are prone to oxidation and consequent tarnishing.
Gentle rubbing with a cotton cloth, after wearing, will restore the original brilliance of the surface, if any grooming products have layered over the part that sticks to the skin. It is essential to do that before storing as the fumes and chemicals , when stored with the product, can lead to blackening or dullness.
Do not use liquid cleaners for alloy, silver or gold jewellery.
If you wear your gold-plated silver jewellery for significant periods of time, the plating will eventually wear down. To restore its appearance, you can have it re-plated for a nominal additional charge. You can check for the same with our team over email/WhatsApp.
Make sure your jewellery is not in regular contact with hard surfaces, which will scratch or wear down the plating or enamelling.
Never use detergent, soap, toothpaste etc to clean your jewellery.
When dressing, jewellery should always be put on last, as make-up, cosmetics and perfumes can cause severe damage.
All stone jewellery requires extra care and consideration during wearing to protect the setting.
Pearls are delicate. The nacre on the outside of pearls is soft, and though the layer of nacre is thick on Swarovski and natural pearls, it can still wear or chip away over time if you don’t treat the pearls with extreme care. Keep your pearls in a box with a soft lining and away from metal jewelry that can rub against them.
Heat and light can impact a precious stone’s colour and durability. Direct sunlight can fade a lot of stones, including semi precious and artificial stones.
Navratana or Nine gems jewellery is made up of 9 different gemstones, one symbolising each planet. It is often used for astrological purposes. We do not take any responsibility for any personal beliefs that the wearer may have.
While care has been taken to ensure that all the pieces adhere to the best quality and craftsmanship possible, the jewelry is handmade and there might be breakage, stone displacement or other issues due to conditions beyond our control.
Should there be any concerns, please send the jewellery piece back to us and we will gladly rectify it for you, if it is within our scope of work.
